Disclosure
How this site makes money
Four ways, all disclosed:
- Our own products. We are building Zone Zero gate and fence-transition kits and a compliance documentation pack. Pages about them are commercial pages and look like it.
- Contractor introductions. Contractors pay for qualified homeowner introductions from our matching page. Homeowners never pay, and network membership requires committing to our scope-honesty and no-insurance-promises standards.
- Affiliate links: none today. We do not currently recommend any specific product, and there are no affiliate links anywhere on this site. If that changes, every such link will be marked where it appears, and we will only ever link product categories that a rule, ordinance, or the IBHS standard actually points toward: gravel over wood mulch, metal storage over wood, and so on. A commission will never determine what the articles say a rule requires.
- Nothing else. No sponsored posts, no paid placements in editorial, no selling your email address.
The rule that governs all of it: the editorial never inflates the regulation to sell the product. If we ever need the facts to be scarier than they are, we've already lost. In practice that means nothing we sell is described as "Zone 0 compliant": the statewide regulation was adopted on August 19, 2026 and is not yet in effect, and no fence-assembly fire test exists in US code to certify against. Full editorial standards: About.
